Study Abroad at MFS
- Overview
Study Abroad at MFS
At Monteverde Friends School you have the opportunity to receive transferable credits for your high school in the United States while being immersed in a bilingual, Costa Rican community. Students may choose to study in Monteverde for a semester or a year. Math, science, history, and U.S. literature are taught in English. Costa Rican social studies and Spanish literature classes are taught in Spanish. There is an individualized Spanish as a Second Language program available for those not prepared to do academic work in Spanish. In addition, there are classes in music, drama and physical education. The school can arrange stays with host families for students.
Monteverde Friends School is affordable, bilingual, Quaker, community-based, and spiritually grounded. We welcome you to join our student community. We have openings for students in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade.
A student application form is available as part of our Student Application Package.
